Ubisoft is now taking on Pirates in the next and due installment of it’s Assassins Creed Series, The Assassins Creed 4 | The Black Flag, will be launched in October.

Assassins Creed 4 | The Black Flag is expected to feature full naval combat as well as a diving mode, all interspersed with the familiar Assassins Creed trips back to the modern day. There are reported to be 50 different caribbean locations to explore and developers have said they have focused on making a game that gets moving more quickly than last year’s title, which was criticized for it’s slow start.
Players will also be able to take to the seas to hunt vessels to board and plunder, gaining riches which can be used to hire a larger crew and upgrade the ship. The game will also feature appearances by famous pirates from the history, including Blackbeard developers have said.

Edward, like the Assassins who came before him, prefers to rock the white hoodie look. He has a retractable hidden blade on his wrist. His main weapon in battle is a sabre, and he's able to fight off multiple opponents at once.
There are plenty of nods to his pirating ways, though. He has a skull and bones emblem on his shoulder. He's wearing multiple flintlock pistols so he can fire multiple shots without having to reload. The trailer also shows him smashing a glass bottle over an opponent's face - a trick he learned in a bar fight, maybe?
